The annual Christmas Concert of the Hallgrímskirkja Motet Choir will be a festive affair as usual. This year’s program will be very delightful and festive as before and includes a wonderful mixture of Advent and Christmas music but also motets never heard before at the choir’s Christmas concert by composers such as Bach, Scarlatti, Sviridov, Gjelo, Bára Grímsdóttir, Hreiðar Ingi and Sigurður Sævarsson. Concert guests get to participate in some renown Christmas hymns with the choir and the magnificient Klais organ.

A special guest this year will be Auður Hafsteinsdóttir, violinist. Björn Steinar Sólbergsson plays the organ. Director is Hörður Áskelsson. There will be two concerts at Hallgrímskirkja; on Sunday 2. December at 17 and on Tuesday 4. December at 20. Tickets are sold at Hallgrímkirkja or online at midi.is.
